A Partnership with Parents
A Catholic Ethos
All Round Education

The atmosphere and structure of the day are carefully tailored so that a great deal of learning is achieved in a caring and happy environment. Our curriculum is play based and we tie it into Aistear's four themes of Well Being, Identity & Belonging, Communicating, and Exploring & Thinking.

The result, borne out by international experience, is that children, with the benefit of our Early Learning Programme, move on to to more formal schooling with great self confidence and an eagerness to learn. Having begun to read and write they also have a breadth of competence that makes their transition to 'big school' a joy for all concerned.

A child's early years shape both their future academic success and their character. Their first experience of education is therefore something that must be considered and chosen with the greatest care.

At Hill House we value every child as an individual with different needs, abilities and strengths. We focus on the  holistic child by supporting all the domains of child development including cognitive, physical, social and emotional.

Our  vision is underpinned by three fundamental commitments:

THE EARLY YEARS SHAPE BOTH FUTURE ACADEMIC SUCCESS AND CHARACTER OF EACH CHILD

The importance of Pre School learning can hardly be overstated. The capacity for acquiring knowledge and skills at this age is astonishing and has rightly been labelled the 'Golden Age of Learning'. Moreover, the extent to which the intellect is exercised at this stage of brain development can have a decisive effect on the child's intellectual capacity in later life. The right kind of Pre School Education can make a huge different not only to the academic success but also to the development of all the facets of his or her personality.

Personal Development

Hill House has a continuous Character Development Programme designed to foster the virtues such as sincerity, order, cheerfulness, generosity, industriousness and service to others.

Early Learning Programme

This element is a special feature of the Hill House Early Learning Programme and is a particularly effective 'exercise' for the developing brain. The children are offered educational 'bits' of information and introductions to new experiences and concepts.

Art and Physical Development

Music plays a vital role in the curriculum. The children learn about pitch and tempo and are encouraged to take an active part in musical activities.
